Lake City Breakfast is a place you can learn to speak confidently in public in a friendly and supportive environment. We have a wide range of members - a number who are arty, semi professional business people, some who own their own businesses, others who don't work. Lake City Breakfast is a lively club that does very well in competitions and has led Rotorua as a President's Distinguished Club for 9 years in a row and is hoping to make this year its tenth. It is also a very social club and many of the members get together for holidays and gatherings.

The meetings are relaxed and there is usually a lot of laughter. We follow the meeting, which is usually over by 8.15am with breakfast at a nearby cafe

Our meetings usually comprise the Toastmaster for the day opening the meeting with a theme, our Grammarian giving the word of the day which members are to try and utilise within their speeches. Three speeches from members are undertaken each with an evaluation, then a number of table topics (a 1 minute speech) from the audience which are also evaluated.
